87. FBC-JC Angela Project Service

This episode features an "Angela Project" prayer service held on Aug. 19 at First Baptist Church in Jefferson City, Mo. Leaders during the service included Word&Way Editor & President Brian Kaylor; Doyle Sager, Hannah Coe, and Jan Watson of FBC; Cornell Sudduth of Second Baptist Church in Jefferson City; Cassandra Gould of Missouri Faith Voices and Quinn Chapel AME Church in Jefferson City; and Jeremy Secrist of St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City.  The service part of a litany created by Simmons College of Kentucky to commemorate the 400th anniversary, on August 20, of the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in what is now the United States. The service also included a report on how many early FBC leaders were slaveholders.
