88. Canada's first concentrating solar thermal power plant

from Green Energy Futures · host David Dodge

Medicine Hat, Alberta is about flip the switch on the first concentrated solar thermal plant in Canada. The one-megawatt, $9 million solar plant is a first this far north and it's connected to the city's natural gas combined cycle power plant. It's the culmination of the city's award-winning Hat Smart program that involved thousands of residents in energy efficient and renewable energy projects and resulted in this solar project and another 6-megawatt wind project, right inside the city. This week "The Gas City" goes solar. http://www.greenenergyfutures.ca/episode/88-welcome-canadas-only-concentrated-solar-thermal-plant
