She believes that owners looking to sell internally to family or employees should begin 5-7 years out. Most owners wait too long to begin the process and thereby reduce the number of options they have for a successful transition. When internal successors are lacking capital to make the purchase of the business, Dyanne works with them to construct ways for them to buy in overtime.
