#89 - Katie Lemieux

“Wow you have body parts on your table”, was one of the first things I said to Katie after we joined up. Katie works and crafts with clay every day. She orders 1100 pounds at once and each box is 30-50 pounds heavy. She skips leg day on receiving days. Makes sense to me. Totally! Katie has the gift to channel the hidden emotions of a person into a piece of art. I asked her if she is a mind reader but she denied it. I think you are Katie! You walked on the Great Wall of China and you created a clay master piece that is over 9 feet tall in the USA. Don't make me spell Milwaukee! I definitely see lots of emotions and an interesting perspective in your art. Very unique! Back to Katie! I like that her creations show the invisible world, the raw emotions, the sometimes uncomfortable, that pushes the boundaries! I am impressed by the perfection of portraying emotions Katie! Working in sculpting is very complex, like Katie said once it leaves the 2 dimensional space it becomes three dimensionally.  Every single corner is visible to the eye. I like when we talked about life, pieces Katie creates become alive. There is a connection. But only for certain ones. Some don’t make it.
