9.22: There's a Special Rest Prepared for the People of God

If you’re anything like me — or any other human  on earth — you’re tired and weary of the coronavirus, the election,  politics in general, fires, hurricanes, the recession, unemployment,  uncertainty, hey, even 2020! To be honest, Jesus can come for His  born-again believers right now and I’d be thrilled to be with Him in  eternal rest in heaven (that’s the rapture). Obviously, He still has work for us to do here on earth. God wants to fill up heaven. That’s going to be our eternal resting place. Jesus told us… “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29 NLT “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There  is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so,  would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.” John 14:1-3 NLT That, my friends, is our confident hope! The writer of Hebrews in chapter 4 reiterates the idea of a place of rest. Let’s check it out… Keep reading in my blog where there are links for you to dig deeper.... Receive the Holy Spirit.  Pray this prayer humbly and wholeheartedly… “Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Please forgive me. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and my life to you. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. I surrender my whole life to you and I will follow you for the rest of my life. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me. In Jesus' name, Amen.” Jesus is coming back soon! Are you ready?
