This week, the House approved four different public safety bills. Three of the plans would create grant programs to law enforcement for mental health emergencies, police equipment and training, and improved investigative efforts on unsolved crimes. Another plan would send funding to community groups to fight crime. While these votes were bipartisan in the House, it’s unlikely this could get traction in the Senate.
