9 - A Hunger Never Satisfied
from Bent and Twisted Hosted by NuWave Community Media
In the late 16th century, a French child ate his parents out of house and home before taking his show on the road with a troupe of performers - his talent was eating everything set in front of him. It wasn’t an act, though. It was an overpowering & mysterious compulsion. Tarrare became a medical curiosity & scientific enigma due to his ravenous and undiscerning palate. His bizarre appetite would lead him from one incarnation to the next as he morphed from street performer, to soldier, to guinea pig, to spy before being accused of a truly heinous act. Join Khadijah and JR as the ever astute J tells us all about the man, the myth, and the appetite that was Tarrare. *Visit us on Twitter @BentPodcast for all the creepy, crimey photos & details.* Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/bent-and-twisted--5176129/support.
