http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/revvyolanda This is volume 2 of the critically acclaimed series Rev. Yolanda's Country Gospel Kirtan. Following Review by Bill Turner (former lead guitarist for Bill Haley and The comets): "Rev. Yolanda's voice is expressive, believable...and just plain great!....cleverly weaving elements of the traditional eastern tabla, combining it with gentle bluegrass instrumentation, superb vocal harmonies, stark bare-bones electric guitar...and making it ALL work! All 12 songs on this CD are "A" material...there is not a weak cut on this whole album. Rev Yolanda is the best "Contemporary Christian" songwriter I've heard in decades!" This comment from a fan: "Dear Reverend Yolanda. I was the security guard who bought your CD. I am really enjoying your music although I am an atheist. I listen to it several times a day. All the best. Cheers. jms" Rev. Yolanda's Country Gospel Kirtan vol. 2-Step Back combines Country Gospel, Native American, and Hindu Kirtan music with Interfaith lyrics, and the occasional House Music beat. Pedal Steel, Acoustic Guitar, Tabla, Native American Flute, Brazilian Samba, Old English, Lush vocals and harmonies with a touch of chanting. Rev. Yolanda is a singer/songwriter/drag performer and Interfaith Minister who's work as an Artist and Sacred Activist has earned hir a place in The GLBT Hall Of Fame. S/He has been called: " The Alien Love Child of Louise Hay and John Waters, with a splash of Tammy Faye ! " Rev. Yolanda is an eccentric, and ecstatic performer with a southern rock, country gospel style. S/He brings hir message of Non Duality into every event by merging GLBT and Mainstream Popular Culture with Integrated Spirituality. With a soulful voice, a message of oneness, great costumes, and a wicked sense of humor, hir shows and CDs emphasize love, beautiful melodies, interesting stories, and a bit of inspiration. www.yolanda.net/audio
