#9 How Men Can Help Women Open Around Them (Understanding What She Needs to Reveal More of Herself)

The three needs of the Feminine are to be Heard, Seen, and Safe. Action Item: when these needs are not met, she will present as guarded. Come from a vantage point of “she wants to be open with me” and see what actions you naturally are drawn to take. This will shift you into a confident expression of your authentic masculinity (no need to pose as “more masculine” to make her feel safe). Safety is individual and primary. Breathing together can be a really powerful way to co-regulate. Touch can be very grounding if you agree to that or simply practice grounding yourself (imagine planting your feet in the ground and breathing into your genitals (full-body breath makes you more present)). Action Item: Ask the woman you care about what she needs when she starts to close down and give her some time to share. Emotional safety is built over time by listening with curiosity to understand the other person’s experience. Women are responsible for opening to men they feel safe with. When she is able to verbalize what her specific needs around safety are, it empowers a man to really step up to provide this. This will help her calm her body and open to deeper experiences of connection- emotionally, sexually, and spiritually. Action Item: the Feminine naturally feels more relaxed when she feels supported by the Masculine.
