It was great to chat with Wayne Tamarelli, a fascinating angel investor who also funds Broadway shows. As a CEO, entrepreneur, private company owner, and public company officer Wayne's 40+ years experience have encompassed general management, entrepreneurship, new ventures, mergers and acquisitions, advanced materials, electronics, environmental protection, specialty chemicals, energy conservation, technology transfer, and other business, scientific and policy areas. His primary business activity is as a professional angel investor. He specializes in value-added investments in early stage tech businesses. He is also a limited partner in several venture capital funds active in these areas. Dr. Tamarelli is founding chairman of Jumpstart NJ Angel Network and a member of the Band of Angels in SV. In 1983 he purchased Dock Resins Corp in a leveraged buyout and successfully grew its revenues and profits as Chair, CEO and sole owner. In 1997 he sold the company at a significant gain and remained CEO until 2000 when he became Chairman Emeritus.
