9: Jeremy Carnes – Finding God On Top Of The Kentucky Mountains

Jeremy Carnes is an avid mobile hunter and a father of three. With a drive to constantly improve himself as an outdoorsman and a conservationist, Jeremy consistently spends his time in the Kentucky mountains where he is introducing his children to God and the great outdoors. Running his own social media channel “Seek First Outdoors,” he closely follows Matthew 6:33, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”   More ways to watch & listen at: https://www.greatoutdoorspodcast.com/post/9-jeremy-carnes--finding-god-on-top-of-the-kentucky-mountains   __ Topics 1:40 – Raised In the Outdoors by His Uncle 3:13 – “Deer Hunting Saved My Life” 7:04 – Searching for Consistency in a Father Figure 8:04 – Being Raised Going to Church 10:41 – Life Lessons Hunting Can Teach 15:21 – Being There for Your Kids 18:49 – Introducing Kids to Hunting on Public Land 20:21 – The Haven of Kentucky 23:42 – Mobile Hunter  27:30 – Playing the Wind in Mountain Hunting 29:04 – Eastern Topography 31:45 – Learning to Read the Wind 36:33 – Hunting Mushrooms 38:12 – A Kid’s First Buck 42:18 – Hunting with Autism 45:21 – Field dressing with the Kids and Honoring the Animal 49:24 – Competitive Hunts Between Siblings 51:34 – Mixing It Up with Different State Hunts 54:52 – Scouting Proper Food Plots Per Season Type 58:08 – Experiences Fishing 1:00:15 - Hunting Off of a Boat Through River Access or Lake Access 1:02:59 – Using OnX to Map Hunts 1:05:25 – Using Topography to Find Mushrooms 1:07:05 – Waterway Hunting 1:08:35 – Bow Hunting VS Rifle Hunting 1:09:42 – Sneaking Into a Deer’s Sacred Area 1:12:11 – When to Use Calls 1:18:51 – Where Don’t You See God in The Outdoors? 1:21:36 – The Significance of Hunting in The Bible 1:23:57 – Teaching Kids to Be Intune to Their Environment 1:27:06 – Seek First Outdoors: Matthew 6:33 – Proverbs 20:13 1:31:08 – Healing The Blind Through the Power of Prayer 1:35:34 – A Life-Saving Encounter with Jesus 1:43:30 – What Makes Up a Church Body 1:49:27 – Failure Is Not Final with Jesus / Win or Learn 1:50:57 – The Most Important Thing Is Faith 1:51:49 – Hoping to Finish the Season Strong 1:55:51 – CWD Regulations 1:58:40 – Becoming A Game Warden 2:03:00 – Conservationist 2:05:15 – Baiting Deer VS Tracking Deer 2:11:46 – Turkey Hunting 2:14:24 – Hunting Kentucky 2:17:19 – Packing A Deer Out of The Mountains on A Boat 2:19:55 – Exploring the Kentucky Mountains 2:25:34 – Camping In the Kentucky Mountains 2:28:21 – The Intelligence of Bucks 2:29:49 – Living With the Cold In The Outdoors 2:30:17 – Kids Grow Up Fast 2:32:06 – Fishing In the Pacific 2:32:33 – Focus As a Hunter 2:33:44 – Hunting A Ram with A Desert Tech MDRX Bullpup Recommended by Garand Thumb 2:34:56 – Outfitting A Mosin–Nagant 2:37:19 – Upland Hunting 2:39:29 - Conclusion   Shop: https://www.greatoutdoorspodcast.com/category/all-products   Jeremy Carnes’ Socials: Peter’s Big Buck Quest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bswrSS6AWQ&t=130s YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SeekFirstOutdoors Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61567308047931 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/seekfirstoutdoors24/
