9: Parenting: Developing the Prefrontal Cortex

from Inner Work With MaryAnn Walker: Helping over givers to stop abandoning themselves and find lasting peace · host MaryAnn Walker

Send us Fan MailAll of us want to raise children that are competent and capable.  In order to do this we must help them to develop their prefrontal cortex. This can be done by helping to create a safe space for learning, allowing consequences to do the teaching, acting vs reacting as a parent by activating our own prefrontal cortex, and working to create a relationship where we can keep the door open to influence (vs control) with our teen.
