9: Regulation as alienation

from Inside Out - with Marthe · host Marthe Schneider

Hello dear you! In this episode I’m talking about my experience of the words regulation, nervous system regulation and emotional regulation and how they are being used in the public now, - on the internet and social media especially, and why I feel concerned because of it. I talk about: 🌱 What I see as the dangers when words like these are taken out of their (clinical) context, and popularized and used in the marketing of yet another quick way to fix ourselves. 🌱 How our capacity to heal and expand is innate, and that it involves far more than our nervous system. 🌱 How words have the power to maintain a view of ourselves as machines made up of parts instead of an amazingly complex and wise design made by mother nature where everything is connected and where all that we experience has meaning. 🌱 What happens when regulation is used in a way that leads us to believe that there’s something wrong with us, and that we need someone else to teach us techniques to fix what supposedly is a glitch in our nervous system, when really it’s our body’s attempt to initiate and complete a healing process that involves all of us. I hope this episode leaves you feeling empowered and inspired! 💡 If you would like me to answer one of your questions in a future episode, send me an email at [email protected] 🤝 If you want to work with me, check out my mentoring program at www.martheschneider.com/mentoring I love supporting you to be all that you are, and to free yourself from what’s been holding you back.
