9: What a Grant Funder Really Wants: Interview with a Grant Maker + Checklist Download [Mindy Honey, Skaggs Foundation]

from Grant Writing Simplified · host Teresa Huff

You know how I'm always throwing out grant writing advice like, "Follow the guidelines!" or "Don't miss a deadline!" Well, today you don't just have to take my word for it. I'm interviewing a grant maker so you can hear from someone on the other side of the desk what grant funders really want.  I'm talking with Mindy Honey from the Skaggs Foundation in Branson, MO. As Director of Community Relations for the Foundation, Mindy's duties include grant administration for Skaggs Legacy Endowment as well as grant writing for Skaggs Foundation. Skaggs Legacy Endowment was established in 2013 and since that time, more than $5.9 million has been awarded to organizations improving health and wellness in Stone and Taney counties in Missouri. There are lots of great takeaways in this episode! So many, in fact, that I decided to throw them all in a downloadable list that you can grab at www.teresahuff.com/funder.
