A trigger is a psychological stimulus that prompts involuntary recall of a previous traumatic experience. A trigger is something that sets off a flashback, transporting the person back to the traumatic event Triggers are not always bad even though they have negative connotation A happy memory can be triggered as well. Some triggers are obvious. For example, alcoholic being around alcohol Unchecked triggers can harm current or future relationships. Being aware can help us learn how to manage them and respond more appropriately when ignited.
