Chandran Nair is the founder and CEO of the Global Institute For Tomorrow (GIFT), an independent pan-Asian think tank based in Hong Kong committed to understanding the dynamic relationship between business, society, and the state, and to reshaping the rules of global capitalism. A Malaysian with a background in chemical engineering and biochemistry, he spent the first decades of his career in sustainability, rising to become chairman of Environmental Resources Management (ERM) for Asia Pacific, one of the region's leading environmental consultancies. He is a member of the executive committee of the Club of Rome and a regular speaker at global forums including the World Economic Forum and APEC.Nair is the author of three books: Consumptionomics, The Sustainable State: The Future of Government, Economy and Society, and most recently Dismantling Global White Privilege: Equity for a Post-Western World, which the Financial Times selected among its best books of the season.
