91. ER, Season 12, Episode 10 (2005)

"All About Christmas Eve" is the 10th episode of Season 12 of the medical drama "ER." Practical Magic is now the chief of emergency medicine. To celebrate, he hands out Christmas presents to the staff at the hospital while wearing a silly little Christmas hat. He then, in the Christmas spirit, gives a bunch of people the night off which leads to a severe risk of death for many of the patients. The main plot is another shooting. It's very dark and sad, but gives a realistic depiction of how doctors deal with death. It also gives an unrealistic depiction of how many people are allowed into the operating room during surgical procedures.
