Richard is a bestselling novelist and has had numerous screenplay projects with the major Hollywood studios and the biggest television networks. For more than forty years, Richard chaired the graduate program in screenwriting at UCLA. He’s the author of such screenwriting books as: Essentials of Screenwriting, and The Whole Picture.Richard’s former students went on to write for Steven Spielberg, and have won three Academy Awards for Best Screenplay.
