#91 - The Winning Playbook: Lessons from Competitive Sports to Real Estate Success with Matt Srama

In just three years, former professional rugby league player Matt Srama has established one of the leading buying agency businesses on the Gold Coast. Matt debuted for the Gold Coast Titans in 2011, aged 20, before retiring from the sport six years later due to injury. After a stint as a real estate agent and then a coach, he founded his business, The Srama Group, in 2020. As Matt tells Buyer’s Agent Institute founder Ben Handler, there are three big life lessons he's taken from sport to business: teamwork, resilience – and the power of being disciplined and consistent. "When people ask me what I feel is the biggest thing I've learned in business or that accumulates to success, I really put it down to being able to do the boring things well, and not over one day, not over one week, not even over one year. Can you do the same thing that you know is the best use of your time, could you do it for a decade straight?" he says.
