#92 The Seduction of Power – What About it is Really Good to Have

Money is something that many people crave. They kid themselves into thinking it buys them time. To a certain extent that is true. But something that can give an even greater high for some people than money is power. When you have power, you can control things that money will not influence – people’s opinions, their loyalty, their dedication, and their actions. When you use that power for the good of humanity it will fulfill you. If you use that power for your own personal gain you will always be seeking ways to keep it because you’ve tied your identity to the power, not your intention to do good. We don’t have to look too far to see examples of how power has seduced politicians to want more of it for their own agenda. The most important power, however is your own ability to control your thoughts and feelings such that you show up as your best self and not a needy self who needs power over others.
