Vechten, boxen en overleven zijn de kernwoorden van Estrella's basisschooltijd geweest. Omdat ze grotendeels doof is en waarschijnlijk dyslectisch is, moest ze naar de LOM school en in het "debielenbusje" naar school. Dat leidde ertoe dat ze veel gepest werd en er niet bij hoorde in het dorp waar ze woonde. Zodra het kon, ging ze van school af om te ontdekken wie ze nu echt is.
