932. Cortisol & Mental Health

from The Doctor Is In Podcast

Dr. Martin continues his teaching on mental health, focusing today on the role cortisol plays. If you remember from previous teachings, cortisol is a stress hormone. When cortisol is continually secreted, it can mess up body functions from your brain to your toes if it goes on for any length of time. In Dr. Martin's opinion, depression is a perfect storm. One of the keys to that storm is the secretion of cortisol. Depression never just shows up one day. It's the result of cortisol being continually secreted because of stress.
