#95: Back On Track

from 1912 Exiles

Anyone heard from the "Rowberry Out" lads, lately? They seem to have gone a bit quiet...What a pleasure to bring you reports on two victories - each magnificent in their own way. First up, we handed a 1912 Exiles debut to young Ollie Allen to talk us through the 3-2 victory against Portsmouth in the Second Round of the League Cup - and he doesn't disappoint. Then it's over to our old faithful Ian Street to tell us about the 4-0 thumping of Harrogate, and seemingly to try and get the word "charcuterie" into the recording as many times as possible...We hope you enjoy the episode, and that you enjoy the pod as a whole - remember, you can chip in towards our costs if you're able to spare a few coins. And you can contact us via Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn with any suggestions for topics to discuss or questions for the panel. Music: Virgo by Sean T.Support the show Hosted on Acast. Are they revolutionary thinkers or just grifters with delusions of grandeur? Join us and let's find out! In Darkest England and the Way Out by William Booth Mentor New York William Booth (1829 – 1912) was the founding General of the Salvation Army in late nineteenth century England. Finding his salvation as a teenager, he went on to become one of the most controversial and, ultimately, well-loved and respected social reformers of his day. Published in 1890 amidst the turmoil of the death of his beloved wife, Catherine, “In Darkest England” was hailed as a revolutionary approach to coping with the social ills facing Great Britain at the time. Although 130 years old, this revolutionary book of Victorian England still has much to say of note today. - Summary by Tom Hirsch
