James Suckling is internationally regarded as one of the most influential wine critics and wine communicators. Through 40 years and over 200,000 wines, Suckling has created a stunning body of information about the wines of the world. Suckling joined Wine Spectator in 1981, when it had 500 subscribers and was run out of a garage in San Diego. He fell in love with the genre and rose to become the European Chief Editor for the publication.
