95. Joy Uproots Despair

Welcome back to the kitchen table. Bethany is excited for you to continue with her through the back-to-the-basics series. For the past couple of weeks, Bethany has been walking listeners through the depths of the Gospel story. She has shed light on a lens that applies to all parts of life, not just motherhood.   This week Bethany is unpacking joy and its ability to uproot despair. In motherhood, we wear our hearts on our sleeve, and many places make us feel despair. Bethany uses scripture and metaphors to help listeners understand that joy is not an emotion we feel, but instead, it’s the ability to see what Jesus has done for us.   Throughout this episode, Bethany speaks light on understanding God’s grace and how he provides us with security and confidence. Jesus walks beside each of us, wanting to show us what true joy is.
