Pour de nombreuses familles issues de l’immigration post-coloniale, congés d’été riment avec retour au pays d’origine ou dans les territoires ultramarins. Un grand voyage qui nécessite toute une logistique et dont le coût implique bien souvent de lourds sacrifices. Ces vacances au bled donnent lieu à de grandes retrouvailles avec sa famille locale, sources d’une joie immense mais aussi, parfois, de querelles et de tiraillements. Comment les descendant·es d’immigré·es né·es en France hexagonale vivent les vacances au bled ? Qu’est-ce que ces vacances révèlent des conflits d’identité inhérents au fait d’incarner une double culture ? Quels sont les enjeux du retour au bled pour les personnes qui ont quitté leur pays de naissance pour s’élever socialement ? Pour en parler, Rokhaya Diallo et Grace Ly partagent leurs souvenirs familiaux avec Chadia Chaïbi-Loueslati, autrice, illustratrice et scénariste de bande-dessinées. Dans son roman graphique Nos vacances au bled (éd. Marabulles, 2019), l’artiste retrace le départ estival de sa famille de 11 frères et sœurs pour la Tunisie, à la fin des années 1980.
