#95 Lynne Twist - We don't live in an ecosystem; we are the ecosystem

from Volver al Futuro · host Victor Saadia

In this episode we talked with Lynne Twist about the Social, Economic, Environmental and Spiritual crises of the world. These are not separate crises but one and the same. The western mind and its ways of production, education and consumption occur under a paradigm of separation and control, so while it creates a lot of economical wealth, it does so at the expense of others wealths: spiritual, social and environmental. Mourning and grieving are needed to re-generate more engaged, empathic and sustainable ways of existing. Understanding that “we don’t live in the world, but in the conversation about the world” and realizing that “we don't live in an ecosystem but we are the ecosystem”, our narratives and lived experience can change to engender what we want to see in this world for us, our children and the entire diversity of life. Lynne Twist has been a recognized global visionary committed to alleviating poverty, ending world hunger, and supporting social justice and sustainability for more than forty years. She is the cofounder of the Pachamama Alliance and founder of the Soul of Money Institute. She has worked with over 100,000 people in fifty countries on how to fundraise with integrity, practice conscious philanthropy, and create a healthy relationship with money.
