And your Lord is the Most Generous, (96:1-3)   “Read”   The first words revealed in the Quran; words which would form the foundation of a community for 1400 years to come.   Commentators for centuries have noted the importance of this word as laying the foundation of this faith in the pursuit of knowledge. Without reading, no one can learn.
