96 | Check the Label

In Acts 17:1-15, we learn the importance of checking the label, or testing what we hear against the truth of God's Word. Paul and Silas preach in Thessalonica, and some Jews and Greeks believe, but others oppose them, causing trouble. They move on to Berea, where the people are more noble because they eagerly receive the message and examine the Scriptures daily to see if what Paul says is true. This diligent searching of the Scriptures helps many Bereans believe in Jesus. This story teaches us to be like the Bereans, checking the label of what we hear by studying the Bible. It reminds us that true wisdom comes from God's Word, and we should always seek His truth in everything we encounter.
