#97 - Flying Close To The Sun - Dr. Dylan Seeley

from The Coaches Corner University Podcast · host Paul Oneid

In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Dylan Seeley DC to discuss some of the cutting edge experimentation with vision training, breathwork and autonomic regulation.  As always Dylan is leading the way integrating the new school and the old school within different populations - the definition of being “evidence-based” and client centered.Dylan worked under legendary speed coach Justin Kavanaugh as a teenager. Went on to receive a rugby scholarship to Wheeling University and later another rugby scholarship to Palmer College of Chiropractic. While at Palmer he studied under former Olympic Bobsled coach and current DNS instructor Dave Juehring. After graduating Palmer, he went on to further his education by learning from Daivd Grey, England Rugby physiotherapist (Dave O’Sullivan), BFR guru (Mario Novo), and a whole host of individuals that are top of their respective fields. Dylan recently opened up my clinic, Inferno Performance and Rehab where he provides in person and online care. Dylan has been fortunate to work with individuals in a wide range of pro sports and those at the Olympic academies. When not in the clinic Dylan trains professional combat sport athletes. In this episode, we discuss:What does it mean to be reckless in the training process?Being intentful and creating KPIsCentral nervous system implications of movementMovement variability and skill development in sportPsychology and Type 1 errors in progressionsCan fear be a good thing in rehab? What is the autonomic nervous system and how can we use it as an indicator when we’re training hard and flying close to the sun?Quantifying the qualitativePerformance is the only metric that matters… can that be quantified?Breath and stressNeurological implications of CO2You’re limited by your imagination and creativityIntegrating vision with breath work to influence ANS responseHow long does it take to see change?Mouth breathing vs. nasal breathing… and more! And more!Find Dylan:IG: @dylan_seeleydc Website: https://inferno-pr.com/ __________Paul's singular goal is to raise the bar for coaching.
