#978 - Jay Collins

The Jay Collins Interview is featured on The Paul Leslie Hour.

Are you here? Hey! Consider it fate that you’re listening to The Paul Leslie Hour

We’ve got a short interview with Jay Collins that was recorded backstage at Chastain Park in Atlanta, Georgia. It was broadcast on the radio in 2007 and this interview has been waiting until now to come out.

Jay Collins heads up the Jay Collins Band and was also the saxophonist for Gregg Allman and Friends.

Here’s what the late great Gregg Allman of the Allman Brothers Band said about Jay Collins: “He has killer tone! Anybody who's into a good smokin’ tenor sax- ya’ll in for a treat!”

Jay Collins is not just a saxophonist, but also a flutist, songwriter, and a very unique vocalist. Based out of New York state, he has a bit of the music from New Orleans in his sound, as well as classic rock, jazz, and blues. He has also traveled the world as a US Jazz Ambassador.

Just a quick note here. Paul’s very first interview was broadcast in October 2003 and he’s been at it ever since. We’ve got a lot of interviews just like this. Best way to keep up with them is to subscribe to Paul Leslie’s YouTube channel and like The Paul Leslie Hour on Facebook. Be our guest!

We think you’ll enjoy this insightful interview with Jay Collins. So let’s get to it!

The Paul McGregor Podcast Paul McGregor On the 4th March 2009, my life changed forever. My Dad, the man I looked up too, the man who in my eyes had 'everything' on paper took his own life. After it happened I struggled to deal with the grief, I buried the pain and found myself asking the question 'why' over and over again. I too then found myself struggling with depression and anxiety. This Podcast is all about documenting not only my own personal journey to discovering more about mental health and suicide, but to also document other stories too. It's time to talk about mental health, it's time to give it the voice it deserves and hopefully this Podcast can provide that. Hopefully this Podcast helps show others that they're not alone...Paul McGregor is an author, lecturer, a mental health advocate, husband, Father of 2 and avid Liverpool supporter. He shares daily content, giving mental health a voice across multiple social platforms and through speaking and workshops across the UK.<p style='color:grey; THE PAUL HALME AUDIO ADVENTURE Paul Halme Business, Fitness and Fun! The Paul Hutchings Podcast Paul Hutchings Inspiring & Empowering freedom through principle centered lessons on Personal Development, Online Marketing & Financial Literacy. The Paul Salamone Podcast Paul Salamone Berlin-based comedian Paul Salamone rants about pop culture, local geography, and books he's reading while playing cheap electronic music live on a synthesizer. Hear old road stories and laugh at Paul's attempts at self-improvement, foreign language mastery and financial freedom... all of it back by occasional techno jams, weird reggaeton and chiptune stupidity.
