A$AP Rocky's Met Gala Swagger: Fatherhood, Fashion, and Legal Fallout

A$AP Rocky BioSnap a weekly updated Biography. In the past few days, A$AP Rocky has been at the forefront of headlines due to a mix of personal milestones, creative pursuits, and ongoing legal drama. Most strikingly, he attended the 2025 Met Gala as one of the event’s co-chairs, where he turned heads with a Briony Raymond umbrella encrusted in 90 carats of diamonds and a handle designed as a revolver. The accessory was widely interpreted by fans on social media as a clever, possibly provocative reference to his recent legal acquittal in a Los Angeles gun trial. In February of this year, Rocky was found not guilty of two felony assault charges after being accused of firing shots at fellow rapper A$AP Relli, with the jury returning a verdict in just three hours. Prosecutors alleged a serious offense, but Rocky maintained his innocence, and the accessory seemed to tease both his ordeal and perhaps subtly honor his partner Rihanna’s hit song Umbrella, adding another layer of sartorial irony to fashion’s biggest night. Rocky’s Met Gala appearance wasn’t just about making headlines with style. It doubled as a major family announcement. Rihanna, his partner, arrived later that night in a dramatic bump-hugging gown, confirming that the couple is expecting their third child. This news was picked up across outlets--Us Weekly and Associated Press were first to confirm--and Rocky glowed about the baby on the red carpet, telling reporters it “feels amazing” and teasing “what we was cooking up.” Later, at the Smurfs premiere in Brussels, Rocky hinted playfully at the child’s gender, holding a Smurfette plush and grinning when asked if this was the girl he had been waiting for. Fans interpreted this as a possible reveal of a long-hoped-for daughter for the pair. The couple already share two sons, RZA, born May 2022, and Riot, born August 2023. While his personal life draws a celebratory chord, Rocky’s business and legal affairs remain complex. His highly anticipated album Don’t Be Dumb has been pushed back once again, now slated for early 2025 release after repeated delays and refunds issued to fans who had preordered. Little has been confirmed about the project besides tantalizing collaborations and high-profile producers including Mike Dean, Metro Boomin, and Pharrell Williams. Promotional singles like Highjack and Ruby Rosary have kept fans engaged while Rocky publicly promises surprises, telling Dazed magazine to “expect the unexpected.” Legal tensions persist as well. A$AP Relli, after losing the criminal trial, has been urged by a Los Angeles judge to consider dropping his ongoing defamation lawsuit, facing the risk of owing Rocky’s team tens of thousands in legal fees. Relli, now without legal representation, admitted to having spent over 500k so far and stands alone, as the civil assault trial related to the 2021 incident is scheduled for early 2025.
