July 1, 1974—long before I became a homicide detective, murder came to my doorstep in Camden. What began as a string of armed robberies quickly spiraled into a night of terror. Three ruthless killers tore through local businesses, leaving a trail of violence behind them—culminating in six victims shot during their final robbery, including the cold-blooded murder of a 13-year-old boy with a weapon stolen in one of their earlier holdups.As police closed in, the suspects fled—triggering a high-speed chase that ended in a violent T-bone crash at Evesham Road and Black Horse Pike. Two more innocent people were seriously injured in that collision.But it didn’t end there.
