A Black American Dreams Vol. II - A Journey Through Intersectionality (Pride + Juneteenth Mix 2020)

from Symonne · host Symonne

Black Lives Matter. Black Trans Lives Matter. Say Her Name. Love is Love. Let it be here as it is above. I've neither time nor patience for less than what We are owed, have been told, have been sold, have been robbed of. What we have been promised. Upon us is justice. How long must this take? How many beautiful Black Lives must lie in its wake? 'Awake, O sleeper, and rise from the dead.' We will paint the streets yellow, purple, green, blue and red, And most of all, Black. B-L-A-C-K, with an undeniable swag. We raise our hands. We wave our flag. Loud, proud and unapologetically us. Because we must. Because we matter. As does every intersection that binds us all together. For my trust, you must step off the curb. Ally is nothing if not a verb. And you must own the problem in you. Black Lives Matter, and Black dreams do too. We will NEVER stop fighting for what we are overdue. by Raechel Symonne Jackson *** A mix for BCG Digital Ventures Pride Dedicated to my ancestors and every life lost to police brutality and white supremacy
