The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (better known by its acronym SEPTA) is a regional public transportation authority that services nearly four million people in five counties in and around Philadelphia. SEPTA has often struggled with management issues, employee morale, strikes, aging equipment, inadequate funding and poor public relations, though it remains the fifth largest transit system in the United States.
