A brief understanding of meditation

from Catharsis · host Robert Cristopher

Meditation simply means: "to become familiar with." Perhaps this is why many people react with fear and unease when they even hear the word, much less experiment with the practice. It takes courage to look within, and it's hard to go back once you start. Meditation serves many purposes, all of them beneficial, whether you just want to calm and re-center yourself after a stressful day, or you would like to go deeper into the quantum world of energy and frequency, hoping to have a profound mystical experience; all can be attained through the practice of just sitting still and finding the sweet spot of the generous present moment. Biologically, meditation is also scientifically proven to up-level your immune system by as much as 40% after just the first 5 days straight days, so as you can see, there is no such thing as a bad meditation, and the health benefits on all levels have unlimited potential. In this episode we simply want to examine: 1. Why more people don't practice meditation regularly. 2. Why people are afraid of the concept of meditation. 3. If, and why, there are social/religious stigma's attached to meditation. 4. What are the the over-all uses and benefits from the sacred art of meditation, as well as the different types, such as sitting, lying, walking, pineal gland, and journeys into other dimensions. Also, how long should you meditate each time and how regularly. Meditation is for everybody, regardless of age or circumstance, and we, at Catharsis, believe meditating regularly is not only recommended, but a requirement, to living a healthy creative life, mentally, physically, and spiritually. After all, the present moment is all that exists! Meditation allows you to practice and master being present, so you can create the life you want instead of living in a self fulfilling prophecy.
