A Broken System

8 days ago, an 18 year old white male walked into a community grocery store and killed 10 black people for no apparent reason other than the color of their skin. He can be considered “broken.” If the script was flipped we know that the headline would have been considerably different than the reality of what we read. Hence: The System. It feels as if it is a waste of time to ask “why?” The real question to ask is how do we fix it? “How do we fix it?” is the enormous question and task that faces us when the system was not designed for us from the inception. This is the topic brought to our table of discussion today by our sister Lorraine. We invite your comments and critique by emailing us at [email protected]
