A Cancer Scare, Health Insurance & How Fragile It All Feels
from Just a Guy in a Truck · host Just a Guy
Today's episode is a little different — and a lot more personal.Last week, my wife was diagnosed with cancer.Thankfully it’s early, treatable, and likely just a surgery… but going through appointments, biopsies, specialists, and insurance has been a wake-up call about how fragile life — and our healthcare system — really is.Even with a decent job and “good” insurance, we’re still staring at deductibles, out-of-pocket costs, and bills that don’t make sense. And it’s hard not to think about how many families don’t even have that safety net.So today I’m just talking it through — fear, gratitude, frustration, and why healthcare probably shouldn’t be tied to your job in the first place.Just a regular guy in a truck, trying to make sense of a scary week.
