Following the 1984 Olympic Games, she was honored by the city of Harriman with the Keys to the City, a street named after her and the local High School track where she competed as a teen was named "Sharrieffa Barksdale Track."She has shared her life story through Motivational Speaking in many venues on various platforms at home and abroad.
