A Christmas Moment - December 26th, Feast of St Stephen
from A Moment to Pause - a short daily Christmas reflection · host The Oblates
Dear friends, a very happy and holy Christmas to you! We join Br Michael Moore OMI on the Feast of St Stephen for today's daily reflection and moment to pause. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Good morning and welcome Thank you for joining us for our morning prayer with the Oblate Family. After the joy of the Nativity, we remember Stephen, traditionally the first to give his life for Jesus. Today’s feast reminds us of the challenge of what it means to follow Jesus. Many have followed the example of Stephen and given their own lives for the gospel. The word martyr means ‘witness’. You and I may not be asked to give our lives for the gospel, but we are all called to be witnesses to Jesus. May the faith we believe in our hearts, proclaim with our lips be seen in the quality of our daily lives and through the work of our hands. Our Father.. Lord, we thank you for calling us to be your disciples and followers. Give us the courage and strength to follow you, especially when it is challenging and matters the most. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Thank you for being with us this today for our morning prayer.
