A Christmas Moment - December 27th, Feast of St John

from A Moment to Pause - a short daily Christmas reflection · host The Oblates

Dear friends, a very happy and holy Christmas to you! We join Br Michael Moore OMI on the Feast of St Stephen for today’s daily reflection and moment to pause. Saturday 27th December John 20:2-8 Peter and John set out to go to the tomb In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Good morning and welcome. Thank you for joining us for our morning prayer with the Oblate Family. Today, we celebrate the feast of John the Apostle. The gospel is the Easter story of John and Peter going to the tomb but finding it empty. John stood with Mary at the cross and took her into his home. He is the model of a faithful follower of Jesus. He set out and went looking for Jesus. As we continue to celebrate the Nativity, we know that Jesus has coming looking for us. He is Emmanuel – God who is with us. In and through Jesus, God has come to live among and within us. As. St. Paul reminds in Colossians 1.4, The secret is, that Christ is in you. This is the real meaning, magic and mystery of Christmas. Our Father.. Lord, may we follow the example of John. May we never tire of looking and searching for you. Give us the courage and strength to follow you, especially when it is challenging and matters the most. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Thank you for being with us this today for our morning prayer.
