A Christmas Moment - December 30th, 6th Day of #christmas octave

from A Moment to Pause - a short daily Christmas reflection · host The Oblates

Welcome to our morning reflection on this the 6th day of the Christmas Octave. Today’s Gospel is Luke 2 :36-40 ‘When Joseph and Mary had finished doing all that was required by the law of the Lord, they returned to their home town of Nazareth in Galilee. The child grew and became strong; he was full of wisdom, and God’s blessings were upon him.’ In the name of the Father, and of the Son and Holy Spirit. I am Pat Hughes and I wish to share that when I was reflecting on this seemingly simple passage I was struck by Anna, a widow praying and fasting in the temple for many years. Why did she do this? Anna was faithful . She deepened her relationship with God and , I believe because of this, she arrived in time at the same hour as Jesus’ family. Once the baby Messiah was seen ,and recognized as the Saviour, she shared the Good News all around.  What a joy she must have felt. Let us pray for our lives to reflect dedication to God despite daily distractions and that we , too , can become beacons of hope and share Christ’s message  with those around us. In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Thank you for joining  us today.
