This season is all about embodying a communication perspective. So let me explain that a little bit: To take a communication perspective is to consider what we’re making and how we’re making it through our communication practices. This means we pay close attention to patterns and contexts, stories and relationships; and that we use curiosity, mindfulness, collaboration, and dialogue to create better social worlds. Think of a “communication perspective” like a pair of glasses, it acts as a lens through which to see the world. It offers us one way to make sense of the things we encounter. Each episode we will be joined in conversation by a guest who is working to make better social worlds in their own ways. We will use our communication perspective to learn about each of these conversation partners, as well as their stories, experiences, and passions. However you are arriving to this podcast- whether you share a similar story to our guest, have experience with the topic we discuss, or are simply looking to learn something new- the communication perspective approach gives us a unique lens to understand stories in ways that we might have missed otherwise. Plus, as you practice taking a communication perspective along with me in each episode, I’m hopeful you can continue this practice in your own life. Thank you for showing up.
