A Conversation About Race In America | The Third Option

from Liquid Church · host Liquid Church

Why can’t we have an honest conversation about color and race in America? If you’ve been following the news, then you know about the cold-blooded killing of Ahmaud Arbery in Georgia. The unarmed, 25-year-old black man was jogging when confronted by two white, armed men in a pickup truck and fatally shot. Only once a video of the crime was released - more than two months later - were those men arrested. This crime is a reminder that we don’t just have miles to go— that racism is real and it's time to face this as a nation...as the church! In this standalone message by guest speaker Miles McPherson at Liquid Church, we learn that it’s time for Christ-followers to stand up and lead the way to healing, even if the conversation is painful and uncomfortable. Miles is a former defensive back for the San Diego Chargers - and he’s gone from the NFL to the pulpit. Today, he’s the pastor of the Rock Church in San Diego as well as an author and motivational speaker. When Miles talks about “The Third Option” - he challenges us to move away from an “us” versus “them” culture and instead to honor what we have in common with each other. Most importantly, that we’re all made in the image of God. We hope you’ll join the conversation by watching this powerful message about race, privilege, and prejudice called “The Third Option.” Change must come, and it has to start in Jesus’ Church with you and me.
