from Sermons for a Critical Faith · host First Presbyterian Church of Lincoln, Nebraska
On April 3, 1968, the day before he was assassinated, Martin Luther King Jr. gave a famous speech, that ended with this: “I've seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land!” Martin Luther King Jr. was inviting people to join him on a journey home – home to the promised land.
