We don’t like hypocrisy, and neither does Jesus. Pastor Geoff Peck of Portico Church explains this message in the text of Matthew 21:12-22. Jesus opposes hypocrisy: the hypocrisy of a false tree and the hypocrisy of a false temple, both of them showing the dishonest appearance of fruitfulness. But thanks to the Gospel there’s hope even for hypocrites to live fruitfully, because the hypocrisy has been cast out while the outcasts have been brought in.
