Here you'll be inspired and spiritually grounded through my daily devotions, discovering the power of deliverance and peace that comes from God's Word. We're in the book of Haggai, where we spoke on Haggai call to seek first God's kingdom. And when you seek first God's kingdom and you consider your ways as Haggai did, God will bless you. And we learned in the last episode that there are consequences when you neglect what's priority to God. The Jews prioritize their desires, their houses, their kingdom instead of God's kingdom, and in the end they experienced failure, frustration, and futility. No matter what they earn or gained, it was all a loss because God was not the center. You must seek first his kingdom. The Bible says in Proverbs, commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established. In today's episode, I want to talk about the second thing that God is calling the Jews to do through the prophet Haggai, and he's calling them to recommit to obedience.00:01:31 Verse seven and verse eight, God calls on the Jews to consider their ways. Consider who's first in their life. Is it their earthly resources? Or is it God? Is it their money? Or is it God? He wants them to consider their ways. The Bible says in Isaiah one and 19 if you are willing and obedient, you shall eat of the good land. That's what the word says, that if you are obedient to the Lord, you will eat of the good land. So God is looking for your best and what he called you to do. He's looking for the best. Not momentary things. Not every now and then worship or every now and then obedience. But God is looking for consistent in your life and faithful obedience is giving God your best and what he calls you to do. This is why the word says in Romans two and 12, I beseech you, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your body as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.00:02:55 Because God wants obedience. And when you are obedient, this is when the Lord favors you. Jesus says, if you love me, you will obey my commandments. Are you obeying God today? Are you sensitive to the Holy Spirit today? Are you still Steal enough in your life to hear him. Have you quieted your soul today? A lot of times we're so busy with the responsibilities of life, with different tasks and different demands that we fail to quiet our soul. And then there are things in our life that seem urgent, but they're not urgent at all. The only thing that's really urgent is your quiet time with God. Because he's in control of your day. He's in control of your life. It is the Lord that opened doors and closes doors for you. It is the Lord who is in control of his purposes and plans that he has for you at the end of the day. You want to be in the center of God's will. Well, how can you be in the center of God's will? If you don't give God your time? So the call to recommit myself to obedience It means I am spending time with God.00:04:25 I'm spending time with the Lord. Because remember, when you refuse to be obedient to what God is calling you to do, he says you won't be satisfied. You won't be fulfilled with life. And as a matter of fact, life will seem like it is running in circles where you're in a cycle. But to break that cycle is to recommit to obedience. And what that means for some of you is I need to repent. I need to repent and get back in alignment with God's will. I need to renew my mind so that I would desire the things of God and chase after the things of God. Because what you really need is God's Word living on the inside of you. What you really need is God's Spirit leading and guiding you. What you really need is God's presence in your life every day. Because the Bible says that in his presence is the fullness of joy and you're in God's presence. When you accept a call to recommit to being obedient to His Word. Are you presenting your body to God as a living sacrifice? Are you presenting to God what is acceptable unto him? This is what God wants, and this is why Jesus went to the cross and died for you, that you may present yourself unto God and live for him.00:05:58 And then God will direct your path. He will favor your life. He will set the course for you. Favor, blessings and goodness. Because our eyes have not seen. Ears have not heard. Neither can the mind imagine the things that God has for those who love him. Brothers and sisters, accept the call to obey God. Today, I want you to discover the promises that God has for you today. If you want to discover those promises, that simply means you need to obey. Consider your ways and repent. Let us pray. Father, in the precious and powerful name of Jesus. Lord, we thank you for giving us life. For giving us a day. We thank you for your faithfulness and your goodness on today. And we pray, Lord, that you would empower and strengthen us, that we may go about our journey full of grace, full of peace, and full of wisdom. We pray, father, that you would have our ears to be sensitive to your voice, that we would know when to stop, to go, to go left or to go right.00:07:16 Father, we want to follow you and acknowledge you in all of our ways, and we pray that your spirit would lead us to do just that. Empower us, father, to resist the temptations of the evil one. Give us victory as we walk out this day in our calling. Give us confident father, that in your word we can overcome all things. Your word declares that we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus. So, father, we pray that as we walk about today that you would remind us of our identity that is in you, and you also would remind us of the promises that we have in that identity. For your word declares that if we're willing and obedient, we will eat the good of the land. So, father, I declare today that I will eat the good of the land, that goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life. And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Father, I thank you and love you again. It's in Jesus name I pray.00:08:18 Amen.
