from Deep Conversations Podcast · host Real, Meaningful Conversations From The Real World

An artist from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born March 20, 1995. At the ages of 7 and 8, I got into poetry and used to write poems that my teacher would let me read loudly to the class every Friday before we went home. Middle school I joined plenty of poetry and debate competitions we had on weekends. By 8th grade, I started taking poetry to the next level and started writing it in music form. I used to write about good days in school, bad days, how much I loved my mom and siblings, things I seen happening in my neighborhood, etc.High school | witnessed a lot of dudes on the football team that freestyled to get hype for practices and games. It kept me motivated to write day in and day out. After I graduated, I decided to give recording a chance. I was afraid and doubtful because I didn't know if people would like it or not, if my voice would say funny and people would laugh. Plenty of people around me believed in me and told me to do it for me and the outside will follow suit. I had a lot of ups and downs through the process with both life and music, but at the end of the day it's worth it.Linktree:  https://linktr.ee/JayTheIcon
