A Deep Dive into Decarbonization - Dr. Sofia Liou, Department of Geosciences at National Taiwan University

The world population is getting bigger and bigger, and carbon emissions show no signs of decreasing, despite the climate goals set for 2030 and 2050. According to the United Nations, the world population is projected to reach 8.5 billion in 2030, so we can all imagine what this will mean for climate and temperature. Dr. Sofia Liu, chairman of Department of Geosciences at National Taiwan University, and leader of the new Science and Technology Research Institute of DE-Carbonation, believes that it won't be enough just to switch to renewable energy and increase efficiency - there will still be 15-20 % of carbon left that we need to reduce.
