The Valley of Achor was a place of trouble, judgment, and failure. Yet God declared that this very valley would become “a door of hope”. What once represented defeat would become a place of restoration and new beginnings.Through Jesus Christ, God gives us a living hope that overcomes every valley of trouble. No matter our past or present circumstances, God can turn our deepest struggles into an open door for His grace, purpose, and promise. Bible Scriptures: Darby Translation Joshua 7:24-26 “24 Then Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the mantle, and the bar of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had; and they brought them up into the valley of Achor. 25 And Joshua said, How hast thou troubled us! Jehovah will trouble thee this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones; and they burned them with fire, and stoned them with stones.26 And they raised over him a great heap of stones, [which is there] to this day. And Jehovah turned from the fierceness of his anger. Therefore the name of that place was called, The Valley of Achor, to this day.” Hosea 2:14-15 “14 Therefore behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak to her heart.15 And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.” 1 Peter 1:3-5 “3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, according to his great mercy, has begotten us again to a living hope through [the] resurrection of Jesus Christ from among [the] dead,4 to an incorruptible and undefiled and unfading inheritance, reserved in [the] heavens for you,5 who are kept guarded by [the] power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in [the] last time.” The post A door of hope appeared first on Preachers Corner.
